SIGN BOARD
Pecco Pecorino is an Italian restaurant located in Kawasaki, a local city in Japan, which offers a casual and communal dining experience to it’s customers with it’s vintage interior and fusion dishes. This is a rebrand project from the restaurant’s old concept first designed in 2015.

the go-to neighbourhood cozy Italian restaurant
We wanted the brand image to be approachable and not overly expensive since most diners are regulars from the neighbourhood. The overall concept hopes to evoke a sense of community and casualness without losing the elegance and class that Italian cuisine pertains.

adaptive logo suite
I have designed an extensive and comprehensive logo suite that would work with most medium and client touch points. The logo incorporates a pictorial mark of a hand drawn pasta illustration since the restaurant is famous for their pastas. The logo concept achieves a good balance between classiness (serif font) and a hand-crafted/artisanal feel (hand-drawn rough illustrations).

italian flavoured colours
The brand’s colours are inspired by the common ingredients found in Italian cuisine. The peachy orange colour is a request from the owner to match the current colour of the restaurant’s walls and interior decor.

bilingual menu design
One of the biggest challenges with this project is to incorporate both English and Japanese fonts that would complement each other; as well as the design of the restaurant’s menu, as the owner wanted food photography to be included since it is a common practice in Japan.

illustrations
This rebrand has introduced a set of hand-drawn illustrations that aim to create a casual, inviting, and homely atmosphere for the restaurant’s customers. The illustrations are inspired by common Italian foods and ingredients.
